An Equipping Church

This week in our vision series, Pastor Kevin dives into what it means to be an equipping church!

We learned last week about the importance of reaching the lost, but true transformation goes beyond just believing. We must teach others how to become biblically faithful and missionally zealous disciples of Jesus.

Key Takeaways:

#1: The church must equip disciples, not simply make converts. Our work does not end when someone makes a profession of faith. We must equip them to become a biblically faithful and missionally zealous disciple of Jesus.

#2: Discipleship is a journey of transformation marked by obedience.

True discipleship involves more than just intellectual knowledge. It's a lifelong process of growing in Christlikeness through obedience, accountability, and community.

#3: Everyone plays a role in an equipping church.

We all must work to see the lost saved, the saved equipped, and the equipped sent. We are to live in community and help those around us follow Jesus.

Bible Reading Plan:
Day 1: Matthew 28:16-20

Day 2: Ephesians 4:1-16

Day 3: Hebrews 13:20-21

Day 4: Matthew 7:21-23, 2 Peter 3:17-18

Day 5: Mark 4:1-20

Reflection Questions:

In the past year, have I grown in obedience to Jesus? Where do I still need to grow?

How can I personally help equip others in their discipleship journey?
